About Sauntle
Sauntle turns a single phone clip into objective, plain-language feedback on how you move, no lab, wearables, or markers required.
What Sauntle is
Sauntle is an independent movement-analysis project. It uses computer-vision pose tracking to measure the patterns that shape how you move, cadence, knee and hip angles, pelvic drop, trunk posture, symmetry, and pronation, across walking, running, and jump landings. Each measurement is graded against movement-specific norms and returned as clear findings and targeted drills to work on.
Who runs it
Sauntle is built and operated independently under the Sauntle name. It is a self-funded project, not affiliated with any clinic, brand, or manufacturer. Any future affiliate or sponsored relationships are disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page and never change how metrics are calculated or graded.
Why it exists
Good movement analysis has historically meant a gait lab, force plates, or an in-person assessment. Phone cameras and modern pose estimation make a useful subset of that accessible to anyone. The goal is to give runners and active people an honest, repeatable read on their mechanics, and concrete things to work on, without overstating what a phone video can measure.
How it works
- Upload or record a clip filmed from the side or behind.
- Pose tracking locates your hips, knees, and ankles frame by frame.
- Grading compares each metric to movement-specific reference ranges and explains what the number means and what to do about it.
Our stance on accuracy
Pose estimation from a single phone video has real measurement error, and Sauntle is a training and prevention tool, not a medical service. We are not medical professionals, and its metrics, flags, and exercise or footwear suggestions are for education only, not a substitute for professional care. If you have pain, an injury, or a health condition, please talk to a qualified professional.
